Training (Gym) - 9 Nov and 13 Nov

Third Training Session - 9 November

Biggest problem is having been hyper and high all day. Gym session was planned for 6pm.

Ease Off for two hours before and one hour after - 4 - 7pm

Personal Glucose Target - complicated -

4 - 5 pm - 9 mmol

5 - 7pm - 10 mmol

7 - 8pm - 7.5 mmol

Plus had half a maple crunch bar before going.

Half of exercise plan with personal trainer - rowing, kick backs, bridge, leg extension.

6pm - 10.3mmol

7pm - 10.1mmol

7.30pm - 12.3 and rising up.

Biggest problem is rise in blood glucose post activity. Looking back I find a pattern of a rise in sugars post Ease Off - and remember this was a problem last time with Temp Basal.

So seek advice from Sporty CamAPS group - and find a troop taking 1-2 u post exercise to combat glucose dump and spikes from lost basal during exercise.

Third Training Session - 9 November

Try a similar Ease Off pattern and Personal Glucose Pattern - and a snack before hand.

Blood glucose before 12.7 and rising - not a great place to start - but hoping the Ease Off will combat any massive insulin dumps by the Loop.

Five mins rowing, 30 kick backs, 30 Fire Hydrants, 30 x 10kg bridge, 40 Dead Bugs, 30 x leg extension machine at 15kg, and hip abduction at 57kg, plus 5 min rowing.

MASSIVE SPIKE - 14.7. Decide to bolus 2 uinits at end of session (but later remember I used to bolus five mins before end of a run).

End up having a Baked Potato for dinner, which is always too hard to calcuate for me, so I give up. The rest of the night is high.

Learning for next time

  • Bolus 1-2 units, five mins before the end

  • Try without a snack
